In The Altered Landscape, I photograph environments shaped by human activity—the commercial buildings, industrial structures, roads, parking lots, and transitional spaces that define much of the contemporary landscape.
These ordinary places interest me for what they reveal about how we occupy and transform our surroundings. Signs of construction, maintenance, adaptation, and abandonment become part of the landscape's visual history.
While attentive to composition, geometry, and color, my primary interest is in the character of these places themselves. Rather than seeking the traditionally picturesque, I explore the unexpected presence, complexity, and occasional beauty of environments we often pass without noticing.
